Tea Uses: Help for Diabetics?

With all the popularity of green tea and the overwhelming evidence of its health benefits, we may tend to overlook the benefits of some herbal teas.  While herbal teas have been best known for their soothing and calming qualities, a new study by the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry (Sept. 10th issue) now claims that drinking chamomile tea daily may prevent the complications arising from diabetes. Fennel Tea

Another tea and, of course, more great health benefits!  Fennel tea is well known for its ability to promote a healthy appetite and good digestion. It is often used in Spain, India and Italy as an after dinner digestive aid. But did you know fennel tea is also used to help with the symptoms of whooping cough, asthma, bronchitis and other upper-respiratory illnesses?

Tea Ingredients: Help for the Risks of Smoking?

Do tea ingredients help male smokers?  A recent Finnish study says maybe so.  After studying 26,000 male smokers they concluded that drinking two or more cups of tea daily can reduce their risk of having a stroke.

After following the subjects for more than 13 years and involved consuming 2 or more cups of black tea daily.  There was a 21% reduction in the risk of cerebral infarction (caused by the blockage in a vessel that supplies blood to the brain). Read the rest of this entry »
